Alicia Bruccoleri, Head of eCommerce & Digital Marketing at Koko Black talks embracing discomfort, chasing the sun, and reveals her secret talents and favourite footy team.

What was the last book you read?

Heart Bones by Colleen Hover. Currently reading Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus.

What do you enjoy about this industry?

So many things, the people – everyone is so supportive, fun and willing to share ideas on how to succeed. How the space is always changing – new technologies that challenge us to keep learning, and changing consumer behaviours that encourage us to adapt and be innovative. I also love how everything we do is measurable.

How do you handle criticism?

I use it as an opportunity to reflect and improve, there’s always more to learn and different ways to do things.

Is there any advice you’d give your 16-year-old self?

Be kinder to yourself and that the things that scare you are often where the magic happens, embrace the discomfort.

What takes up too much of your time?

At the moment with buses replacing trains on my line….traffic!

What did you want to be when you were five years old?

A netballer.

What was the first live concert you attended?

Kylie Minogue.

What is one of your guilty pleasures?

Almond croissant and a coffee.

What is one song that you would request a DJ to play at a party?

Dog Days Are Over – Florence + The Machine.

Do you have a favourite social media platform?

Not really!

If you could appear on any TV show as a special guest, what would it be?

White Lotus – wouldn’t mind sipping an Aperol in Taormina.

What’s on the top of your bucket list?

A year of Summer, to follow the sun!

What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?

I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to Europe a few times.

What is the most impressive thing you know how to do?

My ability to fall asleep in any TV show or movie, anywhere!

Do you have any secret talents?

Not a talent as such but I’ve been riding dirt bikes for many years.

Do you have any pets?

I do, a cheeky Spoodle named Daisy.

Do you support AFL? – Who is your team?

I love going to the footy, I’m a Collingwood fan, go pies!

How do you typically unwind after a long day?

I try to end every day with a long walk outdoors with Daisy, rain, hail or shine!

If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead, who would it be?

Taylor Swift.

What could you give a 40-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation?

The best of the Greek Islands!
