The VIP Awards were co-founded by Phil Leahy, the Founder of Retail Global, and aims to celebrate the solutions that help power the retail ecosystem.
The event was established in partnership with the NRF Retail Week in New York. Now the event has come to Australia and recognises the businesses and partners that support, influence and transform the industry.
Taking place on the sunny Gold Coast, Retail Global hosted the prestigious event, with some of the biggest names from the industry taking home prestigious awards.

I’m so proud to be part of a community like ours. Thank you always for your support!!!” she shared on LinkedIn.
“Even more proud of the MI Academy team, every year we are left of center at awards, we are not big tech, we are project training, we use the tech for our solutions whilst powering up people. It’s always a gamble to enter but our hard work pays off!!”

Sadly, a COVID outbreak across Brisbane caused the Retail Global event to be cut short. Understandably devastated, the Retail Global team made the difficult decision to end the event early, following consultations with the venue and Queensland health.
“The Retail Global team is devastated after being given the green light and a clear run into the event that this unfortunate series of events has forced our hand,” the team said.
Despite the event being cut short, Power Retail would like to congratulate the entire Retail Global team on a great event, and for continuing to deliver excellence for the digital retail industry across Australia.
