Amazon Offers $75K to Aussie Fashion Brands
Amazon Australia has launched a new fashion shop front on its marketplace along with a prize for local brands that comes with a $75,000 grand prize.
The e-commerce giant announced its new local marketplace on Tuesday morning, to coincide with the launch of its ‘Amazon Fashion 2018 Local Brand Award’.
The new shop front reportedly features more than 150 Aussie fashion brands, including this week’s featured businesses, Local Supply and Third Form.
According to Angela Langmann, the head of Amazon Fashion Australia, the company is invested in helping local up-and-coming brands make a mark in the Australian and international e-commerce markets.
“We are really excited to be empowering some brilliant homegrown talent by putting them front and centre on our Fashion store. We know Aussies love to shop local and we want to help them do just that with our Amazon Fashion 2018 Local Brand Award and The Local Fashion Store,” she said.
In conjunction with the launch of its new fashion store, the company has also selected 15 Australian fashion brands to go in the running to win a $75,000 marketing package.
The shortlisted brands are as follows:
- Antoine & Stanley
- Croft
- From St Xavier
- Jaggar
- Local Supply
- Novo
- Silent Theory
- Skin
- The Critical Slide Society
- Third Form
- Three of Something
- Wild Rhino
- Will & Bear
Customers will be able to vote for their favourite of the 15 brands until midnight on December 4. To encourage shoppers to get involved in Amazon’s search for the best up-and-coming local brand, everyone who votes will go in the draw to win a $500 Gift Card and an Amazon Echo.
