AusPost & 7-Eleven’s Partnership “Just Makes Sense”
With parcel volumes skyrocketing in 2021, Australia Post is making it more convenient to collect online orders with its new partnership with 7-Eleven.
Australia Post is doubling its parcel locker collection points. In response to increasing online purchases, the company is turning to convenience stores to help shoppers pick up their orders at any time.
“Australia Post is delivering more parcels than ever before, with Australians showing us over the past year just how much they’ve embraced shopping online,” said Nicole Sheffield, the Executive General Manager Community & Consumer at Australia Post. “This partnership with 7-Eleven gives our customers greater choice on the most convenient way to collect what they’ve bought, at the times and places that suit them, which is why expanding our locker network into 7-Eleven stores just makes sense.”
There will be more than 1,000 parcel lockers available to use, which will be free to use at all hours of the day. These will be available in more than 200 7-Eleven stores where the 7-Eleven ParcelMate lockers are pre-installed. A further 300 stores will be added by the need of 2021. This is in addition to more than 500 existing Australia Post parcel locker locations within the network.

“Australians live pretty busy lives, and our focus is on making their everyday wonderfully easier,” said Matt Keogh, the General Manager of Product at Australia Post. “Being able to offer Australia Post customers the choice to collect their parcels in one of our stores, when and where it suits them, is convenience we are proud to partner with Australia Post to provide.”
Online orders have skyrocketed in the last 12 months. According to the recently-released Australia Post Inside Australian Online Shopping E-Commerce report, figures suggest that online shopping has increased 32 percent over FY21. Furthermore, nine million Australian households now shop online, which is an encouraging sign for retailers across the country.
