Calvin Klein Launches Aussie E-Commerce Operations
Calvin Klein announced the official launch of its Australian-based e-commerce operations on Monday, marking the latest addition to the brand’s growing online portfolio.
After the much-anticipated launch of Tommy Hilfiger’s ANZ online store last month, the investment group behind Calvin Klein has announced the latest move in its Aussie expansion plan.
The global fashion house and luxury manufacturer revealed on Monday morning that Australian shipping is now available from the company’s new localised e-commerce store.
Aussie consumers will now be able to shop the brand’s collection of Calvin Klein jeans, underwear and accessories from its expanded site, with faster shipping times than previously available to local shoppers.
According to the company, the new site will also offer an expanded product range, which has been updated to include the fashion brand’s newly launched, Denim Index.
As part of the brand’s new Australian e-commerce presence, it will also be offering free shipping on orders over $100, shorter delivery times of one to two days, and prices listed in Australian dollars, rather than USD.
This news follows the company’s decision to expand its Australian presence while moving away from the traditional department store model.
In an investor’s presentation in May, Gazal Corp, a half owner of PVH Brands expressed concern over the financial and operational concerns that have emerged in relation to department stores in Australia. Myer is a particular concern for the international brand since it has been plagued with poor sales, share price drops and store closures in recent years.
To minimise the risk of declining department store sales, PVHBA announced its plans to introduce its own retail offerings in Australia for both Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger.
Tommy Hilfiger already has 12 full price stores in Australia – and Calvin Klein has 19 –the launch of e-commerce for both brands is expected to continue the expansion of the already growing network of owned channels across Australia.
