Catch Group Says Tech and Fitness to Dominate Black Friday Sales
Catch.com.au has revealed its predictions for the 2018 Black Friday Shopping event, claiming tech and fitness products will be among the biggest sellers.
In 2017, Catch reportedly experienced a 24 percent spike in Black Friday sales when compared to the same shopping period in 2016. The online marketplace is confident it will see even more growth between 2017 and 18.
“Smart shoppers are looking to take advantage of the savings that online shopping events such as Black Friday and Click Frenzy offer, to get their holiday shopping done early,” said Nati Harpaz, CEO of Catch Group.
After analysing its 2017 data, Catch says that desktop purchases were more popular among savvy consumers last year, with purchases up 55 percent, while mobile shopping was actually down by 22 percent during the event. It’s believed this could be because a number of workers were shopping on their computers during breaks, rather than pulling out their phones.
Sydney shoppers were reportedly the most active on Catch’s homegrown marketplace during Black Friday in 2017, with Sydneysiders accounting for the highest volume of sales out of any state, especially in the sports and fashion categories. However, Melbourne led the way in purchases of beauty and tech products.
In 2017, the best selling categories on Catch.com.au were electronics, fitness, fashion accessories, home products and toys and games. This year, Catch expects to see similar results, with Harpaz detailing special deals on popular brands like 90 percent off Skullcandy headphones and 41 percent off Sketchers.
“We are predicting our busiest Black Friday yet as we continue to offer our customers the best deals on the brands they love,” Harpaz says.
Catch has announced a number of its deals for Black Friday, including a 33 percent discount on Microsoft Xbox One S 1TB Console with BattleField V on offer for just $298, while Revlon’s 9-Piece Super Lustrous Lipstick Cube will reportedly be on sale for $35, representing a saving of 83 percent.
