Ahead of Click Frenzy’s Main Event Sale, PayPal has announced it will be offering its trusted payment options to curb shoppers data security concerns.

With Click Frenzy’s Main Event Sale on the horizon,  the mega-sales event platform has announced a cybersecurity-focused collaboration with PayPal.

The partnership will see PayPal offer its trusted payment options to the checkout process during the Click Frenzy Main Event Sale. The collaboration focuses on tackling cybersecurity concerns amid ongoing data leaks in Australia.

PayPal has found that 74 percent of Australians are more concerned about their online security than they were 12 months ago following ongoing high-profile data-breaches and scams. Shoppers are now hyper-aware of where they are shopping and how they are protecting their personal and banking information. According to PayPal’s research, 93 percent of customers have taken at least one proactive measure to protect themselves online, including using a service like PayPal for secure transactions.

“This is a great collaboration because we know PayPal can increase trust and confidence, particularly when shoppers consider deals and offers from unfamiliar sellers,” said Caitlin Hoey, Head of Marketing at PayPal. “In fact, our research shows, 2-in-5 Australians (37 percent) have abandoned purchases due to security concerns, or because their preferred payment option wasn’t available.”

Click Frenzy’s collaboration with PayPal will extend beyond their Main Event sale and will see them as their official payments partner into 2024 with a  tentpole sale event, which will be announced in due course.

Daniel Thompson, Head of Marketing at Click Frenzy says, “We’re thrilled to be working with PayPal’s trusted payment options, especially at a time when shoppers are more concerned than ever about online security.

“It’s a perfect match as both organisations are committed to looking after shoppers – Click Frenzy by centralising the best deals and exclusive offers from the retail industry in a transparent and trusted space, and PayPal by providing a safe and secure online shopping experience.”

Security is not the only concern of shoppers going into the sales season as ongoing cost of living issues continue to plague budgets. As Australia’s premier and most recognised national online mega-sale event, Click Frenzy will be launching a month earlier than usual, on October 24 to ensure shoppers lock in the best deals prior to the Christmas rush. Research shows budget conscious Aussie shoppers are looking for deals ahead of the holiday season to offset other expenses. A recent Power Retail report revealed that 82 percent of consumers are holding out for sales events this year to make their big purchases, up 5 percent from 77 percent last year.

As a special incentive and a bonus to the collaboration, an AUD $10 PayPal voucher will be available to eligible customers who use PayPal’s interest-free and fee-free buy now, pay later service, PayPal Pay in 4 for the first time during the Click Frenzy Main Event Sale.
