Click Frenzy To Break Records in 2020
The stars are aligning for an epic Click Frenzy Main Event. As the countdown begins to online mega-sale starting Tuesday November 10, a host of factors are set to create a massive boost for Australian retail.
It’s no secret that e-commerce is booming, and even with Victorians emerging from lockdown the appetite continues unabated. Every week, online sales volumes in Australia continue to hover at an average of 80 percent+ year-on-year, and the holiday shopping season has not even begun in earnest.
According to the latest Power Retail Trajectory Report, Click Frenzy is expected to jump almost 100 percent in terms of revenue compared with 2019, with Black Friday expected to increase by more than 50 percent.
However, there are other factors beyond the overall rising tide of e-commerce that provide major tailwinds for Click Frenzy. With over 60 percent of online shoppers across Australia experiencing delivery delays, more shoppers than ever are planning to start their Christmas shopping earlier, and fewer are willing to risk waiting until Black Friday.
Australia Post is already advertising to consumers to shop early this year to avoid disappointment and alleviate the immense pressure expected to hit delivery networks in December.
Click Frenzy’s Official Delivery Partner, CouriersPlease, is expecting a further acceleration of parcel volumes off the back of the main event, with Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Roper stating, “We’re already seeing parcel volumes up over 80 percent YoY and we expect Click Frenzy to drive that to another level this November.”
“We have seen a significant increase in interest from quality retailers wanting to participate this year across all categories,” says Nick Anderson, Sales Director, Click Frenzy. “There are quality retailers and brands represented well in every category, more than we have ever seen, so it is going to be a massive hit with online shoppers. Plus, we have more incentives than ever for consumers to shop at Click Frenzy, something other sales don’t have.”
Partnerships with major mover in the buy now, pay later space humm, plus Telstra, the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Couriers Please, and Volkswagen will bring significant amplification to the event in 2020.
“Our Mayhem event earlier this year grew 120 percent, delivering a major boost for retailers at a much-needed moment,” says Anderson. “Every indicator we see now points to the same for the Main Event.
“The budget stimulus, Australians beating the coronavirus battle and more Aussies returning to work create supreme conditions for Click Frenzy growth. We know many of our retailer partners are bullish on sales expectations – some we know are targeting 200 percent+ year-on-year, and we’re pulling out all stops to make that happen. We’re going to put the best of Australian e-commerce on a pedestal, and we can’t wait!”
Click Frenzy says there is even more for shoppers to look forward to than ever before, especially if you’re on the hunt for a new car.
In a world-first, Volkswagen participated in Click Frenzy in Mayhem, and are back with exclusive deals for Aussie car shoppers, plus are joined by Subaru in another first for Australia’s best known online shopping event.
Participating retailers and brands already include Myer, Kogan, Catch, The Good Guys, Priceline, Sony, Dyson, Canon, L’Oreal, Platypus, T2, Mimco, Target, Fila, Shaver Shop, Michael Hill, plus hundreds more across every category including recent ASX-listed companies MyDeal, Adore Beauty and Aussie Broadband.
“We still have a ton of retailers signing up to the event in the final weeks – demand is huge,” says Anderson. “It’s a great mix of our existing high performing customers and newcomers, with businesses large and small creating an awesome range of offers. Exciting times.”
Click Frenzy’s Main Event runs from 7 pm Tuesday, 10 November to midnight, 12 November. Details are at www.clickfrenzy.com.au
