Country Road Group restructure prompts MD departures
Managing Directors Simon Schofield and Sarah Rovis of Witchery and Mimco respectively have departed their roles at Country Road Group.
Two of Country Road Group’s Managing Directors have exited the company, with the company undergoing a restructure with up to 40 redundancies made in a bid to deliver future growth.
“We’re investing in building the capacity and capability of our supply chain, and that’s to enable the growth of our brands in the future,” said a spokesperson for Country Road Group. “So we’ve made some changes to bring in capabilities and skills to be able to deliver on that future growth.”
“We’ve also with elevated some of the roles of our designers,” they said. “We’re building the resilience of the supply chain so that we can grow, and we are just continuing to invest for growth.”
Simon Schofield has exited as managing director of Witchery, after being part of the Group for 13 years in roles across Trenery and Country Road. Sarah Rovis has been the managing director of Mimco for seven years.
The two roles were demoted to general manager level roles, which according to AFR, prompted their exit with a recruitment process currently underway to fill them.
The Country Road Group spokesperson confirmed the restructuring to AFR but noted that the retailer was also investing in its supply chain. “This is not about cutting jobs or costs in the business. We are building our supply chain, so we can develop, produce and delver the best products,” she said.
