Cover Genius’ Plan to Propel Further Into E-Commerce Industry

Cover Genius announces the appointment of the Head of Retail Partnerships as it propels into the e-commerce industry.

Global insurance distribution platform, Cover Genius, has appointed former eBay commercial partnership leader, Richard Hankin as its Head of Retail as the company expands its leadership team.

This new appointment is one of four senior hires and aids the Australian-founded insurtech to meet the growing demand for its customer-centric solutions.

Cover Genius is a global insurance distribution platform and enables the world’s largest e-commerce companies and platforms to sell insurance to customers. The company co-creates insurance products with partners, enabled by its ability to produce regulated products in more than 60 countries and across 50 U.S. states. The Australian company has offices located around the world, and has been recognised as the fastest-growing company in the country from 2014-2017.

Cover Genius’ new Head of Retail will aid in pushing the company further into the e-commerce industry, boasting a 397 per cent increase in policies sold year-on-year thus far. Hankin’s new role involves overseeing the Insurtech’s new and legacy retail partnerships across the APAC regions. In a recent report by Insuretech Australia and EY, the industry has grown by 53 per cent over the past year in Australia.

Hankin brings along a ‘wealth of knowledge in the industry’ as well as ‘opportunities for strategic partnerships’ with this new role. Prior to the role as Head of Retail, Hankin was the Head of Commercial Partnerships at eBay Australia and New Zealand and has experience leading teams that partnered with 80 of the top 100 retailers including Bunnings, Coles, Microsoft and Dan Murphys. Hankin also managed key strategic partnerships with Google and Shopify.
