dusk announces interim CEO and Managing Director
As current CEO and Managing Director of dusk Group Peter King, steps down, the company has appointed Chairman John Joyce as interim lead.
Current CEO and Managing Director of dusk Group, Peter King, will be stepping down from the company next month.
The announcement was made in January 2023, and Peter King will step down from his role on 19 July 2023 following the completion of his six-month notice period.
dusk Chairman John Joyce will be appointed Executive Chairman effective 3 July 2023 and will take on the CEO responsibilities until incoming CEO and Managing Director Vlad Yakubson joins the Company, which is scheduled for 24 October 2023.
John Joyce is an experienced retail leader having been a non executive chairman with dusk for the past six years. His track record includes roles as CEO at Rebel Group, executive GM at Myer, and as Managing Director of ALDI Stores Australia.
Incoming CEO and Managing Director Vlad Yakubson, who joins the company in October, joins the luxury fragrance brand from over seven years at Australian clothing company YD and its parent company Retail Apparel Group. Chairman John Joyce, described Yakubson as a “dynamic, value-driven leader” who brings deep retail experience across diverse product categories.
Last month, the retailer made headlines as it warned an “increasingly cautious consumer environment” was effecting sales. dusk said it expected sales to be between $135 million and $137 million for the year to June 30, compared to $138.4 million in the previous financial year.
