Founded in 1879, Dymocks has been a staple book store for anyone in Australia, and even with online retail offering stiff competition, it has remained a mainstay in the landscape. Let's take a look at its online offering from the late '90s to today and see how far the retailer has come.

With 65 stores across the world, including New Zealand and Hong Kong, Dymocks entered the e-commerce space relatively early compared to its peers. The website was easy to navigate and nice to look at – but what about now? What have been some of the most significant changes? For a while in the e-commerce timeline, retailers tried to do too much with their online canvas, and Dymocks was no stranger to filling the page with content.

But as the 2010s rolled in, so did the return of minimalism and clean layouts. Bright colours and large images have helped the user discover new reads and aren’t as overwhelming as in its early days. Let’s take a dive into the E-Commerce Time Machine to see how far Dymocks has come in the last 25 years.
