Former Coca-Cola MD Appointed to the Board of Wesfarmers
Alison Watkins, the former Coca-Cola Amatil Group Managing Director has been appointed to the Board for Wesfarmers.
In May, she left her role with Cocoa-Cola Amatil after seven years, following its acquisition by Coca-Cola European Partners. She will join Wesfarmers on September 1st, the company shared.
Before her role at Coca-Cola, Watkins was the CEO of GrainCorp Ltd – one of Australia’s leading grain handling, trading and processing companies. In this new role, Watkins will deliver shareholder value, as well as introducing CEO level and board-level expertise to the business.
This isn’t the first time Watkins has worked in the retail sector. She has previously been a Non-Executive Director of ANZ, Woolworths Limited and Just Group Limited.

“She is a highly respected business leader who has contributed significantly to economic, business and public policy development in Australia,” said Michael Chaney, Chairman of Wesfarmers. “Her appointment further strengthens the board’s mix of skills, knowledge and experience, including in the areas of retail, sustainability, strategy, finance, and people and culture.”
Alison Watkins shared her excitement for the new role, expressing that she has ‘admired’ Wesfarmers. “Wesfarmers is a company I’ve always greatly admired and I am excited to have this opportunity to
contribute to its future,” she said.
