Uniqlo Opens Its First Store in India

Uniqlo is opening its first brick-and-mortar store in India. The Japanese retailer opened its doors to the Indian public on Friday, with 300 people lining up at the entrance before the doors opened. “I’ve heard a lot about Uniqlo’s good quality, so I wanted to see for myself,” said an onlooker in New Dehli.

The retailer is set to become one of the most successful fashion brands in the world, placing after Spanish fast-fashion retailer, Zara. The first store that opened in Dehli is one of three, which are aimed to target middle-class customers – a demographic that’s rapidly growing within the country.

Google Shopping Unveils New Features

Google Shopping has unveiled some new features to make mobile shopping easier for customers. The features include updated price drops, personalised home screens and Google Lens. The latter features allow users to build an outfit, record preferred outfits and create a personalised experience for online shoppers. Its new ‘Get Style Inspiration’ menu gives shoppers the opportunity to browse for related products that they may be interested in, what people on the internet ae wearing, and an ‘Add to Cart’ option within the app. “Google Shopping lets you filter for nearby products, so you can find local stores that carry what you need and see whether they have it in stock. This feature could be a lifesaver if you find yourself looking for a last minute gift for the holidays and shipping just won’t cut it,” said the company in a statement. Google Shopping’s update is currently only available within the U.S.
