Hunting for George Pivots to a Creative Media Company

Homeware store, Hunting for George, has made the decision to step away as an online store, and focus on becoming a 'creative media company'.

Hunting for George is no longer operating as an online retail store, and have decided to pivot its brand into a ‘creative media company’. Hunting for George’s Founder and Brand Director, Lucy Glade-Wright made the announcement, noting the brand’s opportunities through ‘creative brand partnerships’.

“Hunting for George has always been much more than just a retailer. Since day one we have created unique stories to connect with our audience and my passion for this aspect of the brand has always been what inspires me. We’ve regularly partnered with brands to help share their stories and my decision to focus on this aspect of the business was a natural progression,” said Ms Glade-Wright.

Hunting for George has been a respected name in the Homewares industry for nine years, and has cemented its brand ‘as an authority’ in Home, Lifestyle and Design. Lucy Glade-Wright is excited to partner with ‘like-minded brands to create more unique content to inspire, educate and engage’ with their audience.

Hunting for George has received many awards as an e-commerce store, winning the Best Small Independent Online Retailer 2016, Best Pop Up Experience 2018 awards. Moreover, it was also named Top 50 People in E-Commerce for three years running and maintained a 4.7-star rating and an NPS score of 72.

“We’ve learnt so much over the past 9 years in retail and I’m extremely proud of all our achievements. Retail is tough and for the most part we loved the hustle but in the end, our retail offering became a costly distraction from the area of our business that was more fulfilling and profitable,” said Ms Glade-Wright.

This change in direction for the company also brings about the departure of Hunting for George’s Co-Founder and Operations Director, Jo Harris. Lucy Glade-Wright will continue as the sole Director of the company.
