Amazon is launching a series of Locker and Counter click and collect areas throughout Australia in a new partnership with Commbank and newsagents.
For customers who order online with Amazon, they can now pick up their goods from a local CommBank. Throughout certain Commonwealth Bank branches, Stockland shopping centres and Victorian newsagents, Amazon now offer a click and collect in a new partnership.
As of this week, the American tech giant has introduced the parcel lockers and click and collect stations throughout Australia, with an expansion of ‘thousands more’ locations popping up in 2020.
There are two options available for Amazon shoppers – Locker and Counter. The former, Locker, have been installed in over a dozen Commonwealth Bank of Australia branches in Sydney. The latter, Counter, includes more than a hundred Victorian Authorised Newsagents Association (NANA) and Stockland Shopping Centres.
For those who have made the order, they will have three to six days to pick up their good, using a barcode and digital six-digit code to access the package provided in an email.
“Since launching Amazon.com.au in 2017, we’ve committed to making e-commerce rooted in low prices, vast selection, and convenience a part of everyday life for Australian customers,” explained Patrick Supanc, Director of Amazon Hub. “We’re excited now to partner with large and small businesses in Australia to extend Amazon’s exceptional customer service and innovations in delivery by offering a quick and simple pickup experience.”
Amazon Australia is opening its third fulfilment centre in Perth late this year. The first centre was opened in Melbourne and the second, Sydney. “We are excited to be establishing our next fulfilment centre in Perth. This expansion represents the investment and development of our growth strategy in Australia, following a steady and progressive increase in customer demand,” explained Craig Fuller, Director Operations at Amazon Australia.
“This new facility builds on the capabilities of our first two fulfilment centres in Melbourne and Sydney, allowing us to continue to fulfil our commitment to fast and reliable deliveries for customers across the country. We strongly believe that this further investment will benefit both customers and the local economy and give Western Australian customers quicker delivery of high demand items.”
