Kathmandu Names Rip Curl Chief Exec as New CEO
Kathmandu Holdings has named Michael Daly as its new CEO. Daly has eight years' experience as CEO of Rip Curl and will start the role immediately.
Michael Daly will commence the role immediately. This comes as the company’s previous CEO, Xavier Simonet, stepped down from the role in April this year.
Daly has previously worked as the CEO of Rip Curl for eight years and will stay with the Group to manage Kathmandu, Rip Curl and Oboz.
“This is an exciting next step for me,” he said. “The Group has a portfolio of outstanding brands in Kathmandu, Rip Curl and Oboz and I am looking forward to leading three great teams as we work together to grow and develop the Group.”
Michael was lauded as having a ‘relentless focus’ on the Rip Curl brand, product, people and bottom line. “After an extensive international search, I am delighted to announce that Michael Daly will be the new Group CEO of Kathmandu Holding,” said David Kirk, the Chairman of Kathmandu Holdings.
“Michael has led Rip Curl for eight years with a relentless focus on brand, product, people and the bottom line and we are confident he will bring the same focus and energy to the wider Group,” he said.
