KMD Brands CFO takes Hallenstein Glasson CEO role
KMD Brands CFO Chris Kinraid has resigned from his role at the company, taking on the role of CEO at Hallenstein Glasson Holdings.
KMD Brands Chief Financial Officer Chris Kinraid has resigned from the position after nine years with the company. Kinraid has worked at KMD as Group Financial Controller at Kathmandu until 2019 when he took up the Group CFO role. KMD is the parent company to Kathmandu, Rip Curl and Oboz.
Kinraid will resign from his position effective December 2023, at which point he will take over as CEO at Hallenstein Glasson Holdings. The New Zealand based company has over 130 Glassons and Hallenstein Brothers clothing stores across New Zealand and Australia and a booming ecommerce presence, with Glassons shipping to over 45 countries.
CEO and managing director at KMD brands Michael Daly said, “We thank Chris for his significant contribution to the Group, including his role in the growth of the Kathmandu brand and more recently the acquisitions of the Oboz and Rip Curl brands. While we will be sad to see Chris leave, we wish him the very best in his new role as a Chief Executive Officer”.
According to today’s ASX announcement, Kinraid will continue as Group CFO until the end of the calendar year. The process for appointing a replacement will commence immediately and KMD Brands will provide a further market update in due course.
“The past nine years with KMD Brands has been amazing,” Chris Kinraid said. “I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside a great team that’s transformed the business into the group of global brands it is today. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved, and I leave the Group in a strong position to take advantage of the many global growth opportunities. I look forward to seeing the momentum continue.”
He also expressed his excitement to commence the new role at the end of the year, writing on Linkedin, “I am greatly looking forward to leading Hallenstein Glasson, a leading retailer with a proven track record of success and amazing potential. I am excited to work with this high performing team!” He wrote.
