Koala Hires ‘Game-Changer’ Chief Technology Officer to Drive E-Com
Australian online retailer, Koala, has hired Emma Pudney as its new Chief Technology Officer, to enable its e-commerce capabilities to 'thrive'.
The retailer has hired Emma Pudney, an e-commerce veteran and technology leader for women. Pudney will head up the entire tech team, including UX, digital product management, engineering, internal IT and the entire e-commerce platform.
She has previous experience in the IT sector, formerly as the Chief Technology Officer for Asia Pacific Japan at Rackspace. There, she built out the professional services and public cloud practice across the region – Rackspace Technology’s Technology Service Blocks.
“As Koala’s consumer base around the world continues to grow, our online offering along with our digital products must continue to simultaneously develop and thrive,” explained Mitch Taylor, the CEO of Koala.
“Emma’s plethora of skills across cloud management, web systems and extensive leadership experience makes her an exciting addition to our team. We value her advocacy for women in technology and admire the wealth of knowledge she brings to the company with over 20 years’ experience.”
Pudney is also an advocate for women in the tech industry, championing for more women to join the tech space. In 2019, she won the ARN WOMEN in ICT, Winner Innovation, for her ‘gamechanging’ Technology Service Blocks.
“Koala is a fast-growing business and I look forward to expanding our online offerings and accelerating innovation in the business with technology,” she said.
“I perform at my best when my work is linked to a positive impact on society and the planet, so I am thrilled to be joining the Koala team who places sustainability at the core of all business practice.”
