New Aim Poaches MyDeal Head of Brand and Loyalty
Former MyDeal Head of Brand and Loyalty, John Barkle, is moving to New Aim, where he will shape the brand identity and deliver a 'unified commerce experience'.
Barkle is the first Head of Brand for the e-commerce brand and brings more than 12 years of experience to the role. His last role was with MyDeal, where he worked as the Digital Marketing Manager and Head of Brand and Loyalty over the span of six years.
The online marketplace filed on the ASX in 2020, with Barkle serving as a ‘driving force’ behind its major brand refresh in 2021.
In this new role, Barkle will help to deliver a ‘unified commerce experience’ to New Aim, defining the business’ house of brands. “I am delighted to be joining such a talented team at a time when New Aim is about to write an exciting new chapter in its growth story,” he shared.
In the short term, he will explore the marketing needs for Dropshipzone, drawing from his ‘experience from last year’s successful MyDeal brand refresh,” he said.
“I am genuinely excited about the prospect of making New Aim’s proprietary platform, Dropshipzone, famous to the Aussie SME business community. I see an enormous opportunity to build this turnkey e-commerce platform into an iconic tech icon through enhancing and underscoring the value proposition and growing the brand with a best-in-class marketing strategy,” Barkle explained.
Cecilia Chu, the Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of New Aim shared her excitement for the new role and explained how the industry is poised for innovation. “John will play a key role in defining the New Aim house of brands and introducing a unified commerce experience for suppliers, retailers, and consumers in Australia,” she said.
“Australian retail is a large and dynamic industry ready for innovation and our business-to-many model is unique in the way we integrate B2B and B2C segments – now it’s time to turn the dial on to reach new customer segments, channels, and markets.”
