Alibaba Introduces Sustainability Initiatives for Singles Day

Alibaba is ‘going green’ for the Singles Day in November. There are three categories for the sales event, including ‘New Business’, ‘New Consumption’ and ‘Green Action’. “Given its scale, minimizing environmental impact is essential, and our technology will ensure it is a green 11.11 Global Shopping Festival,” explained Fan Jiang, President of Taobao and Tmall. Singles Day takes place on 11th November.

ModelCo and DMA United Launch Beauty Incubator

ModelCo and DMA United are collaborating again and launching a beauty incubator. Following the collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld, the Sydney-based beauty company and NY advertising firm will design, manufacture, distribute and deliver beauty products worldwide. The collaboration will ‘focus on strategic partnerships and celebrity collaborations, private label, direct-to-retail and wholesale opportunities for new fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands’.

Openpay Unveils New Brand Partnerships

BNPL platform, Openpay, is unveiling brand partnerships with Bunnings Online, Hanes Australasia, The Just Group, Tontine and Total Tools. “Whether they’re shopping for themselves or purchasing a gift, these new merchant partners can cater to a variety of our customer’s shopping needs, and we can cater to their financial needs, giving them smarter ways to better manage cash flow,” explained Michael Eidel, CEO of Openpay. “We want to support customers across the board, not just for the big-ticket items, and we’re confident that these new partners will help deliver the products and solutions that they’re looking for.”
