How CouriersPlease is Preparing for Biggest Christmas Yet

CouriersPlease is swiftly increasing its network as the business anticipates delivering over 10 million parcels in the holiday period. 

Estimated to be one of the biggest Christmas in its 38-year history, CoureirsPlease is ramping up its operations to deliver parcels in a smoother fashion, to avoid any ‘delivery anxiety’ that comes with the Christmas period.

Some of the key operations CouriersPlease is increasing and improving include an increase of delivery drivers on the road. CouriersPlease is adding an extra 400 casual delivery drivers to its fleet, and a further 200 staff in its depots. In Sydney, there will be 200 new drivers, 150 in Melbourne and 50 in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

Furthermore, the development of CouriersPlease’s depots will further ease the strain during the peak season. The courier service has been expanding its depot network since July. In Melbourne, CouriersPlease operates a 14,000sqm depot in Victoria, an 8,000sqm depot in Sydney and a 6,0000sqm depot in Brisbane.

Cut-off dates for CouriersPlease has been released. In Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, all purchases should be made by December 10 if customers and retailers intend to have products arrive ahead of time. For those in Adelaide, it’s expected to have a cut off from December 7-10. For those in Perth, the cut-off is December 3rd.

“Putting more resources into our network and operations has been designed to improve our reliability as a parcel delivery service,” said Paul Roper, the CCO at CouriersPlease. “We forecast that we will deliver 10.4 million parcels between now and Christmas – last year, it was just eight million during the same period. Putting these changes in place early on will allow us to keep up with growing volumes and minimise delays across the board. This year, retailers can have peace of mind knowing orders will be in the hands of customers safely and swiftly,” he said.
