The Kardashians Call it Quits on DASH

Boutique fashion label, DASH is set to close its in-store and online sales offerings by late May, as the Kardashian sisters focus on other business and personal ventures.

After 12-years, the Kardashian sisters have decided to close down their fashion boutique, DASH, with the bricks and mortar stores in Los Angeles and Miami closing on May 28 and online offerings closing as of May 20.

Kim released a statement about the decision to close DASH on her app, stating motherhood and other business ventures influenced the sisters’ decision to walk away from the fashion boutique.

“After nearly 12 years, my sisters and I have decided to close the doors of our DASH stores. We opened our first store as a family in 2006 and, since then, we have made so many lifelong memories,” she said.

“From opening locations in Los Angeles, Miami and New York, to having our Dash Dolls spin-off show, it’s been such a huge part of our lives. We’ve loved running DASH, but in the last few years, we’ve all grown so much individually. We’ve been busy running our own brands, as well as being mums and balancing work with our families. We know in our hearts that it’s time to move on.”

Kourtney, Kim, and Khloé closed their New York store in 2016, with the LA and Miami stores now following suit, along with the e-commerce branch of their business.

Talk of the sisters walking away from the multichannel fashion boutique originally circulated last year, after the siblings discussed it at length in an episode of their reality television series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

The fashion industry in America has been on a rapid decline over the last 12-months, with Business Insider reporting in 2017 that retailers like Payless, Macy’s and Bebe were closing stores across the country, as e-commerce competition was starting to take its toll.

While rumours have circulated that the Kardashians are the latest victims of declining retail sales over in the states, the sisters remain firm that conflicting interests are behind their decision to close DASH.
