Quad Lock Secures Former Nike MD and THE ICONIC GM as CEO
Quad Lock has locked in a new CEO - former Nike Pacific MD and THE ICONIC GM, Andrew Poole, as the business continues its expansion globally.
This news comes as the online retailer secured $100 million in revenue, doubling its team size and expanding into China.
Andrew Poole previously worked as the Managing Director of Nike Pacific, leading the commercial function across North America, and overseeing the expansion of its Partner Retail footprint. Moreover, his role with Nike expanded the retailer’s position in key categories through an aligned D2C and wholesale strategy.
However, most recently Poole operated as the General Manager of Sports for THE ICONIC, which he began in June 2021.
Poole will enter the role as CEO, where he will help drive the company ‘beyond its D2C’ origins and focus its energy into a ‘global lifestyle’ brand. He will create new expansion pathways to speciality retail and industry partnerships. Furthermore, the team will leverage its global reach; currently, more than 80 percent of sales come from outside Australia.
“I am a long time Quad Lock user and am extremely excited to be joining Rob and the team to take this already strong global brand through the next phase of its growth,” said Poole of the news. “Quad Lock is focused on providing the best product and service to its customers where they are, and I’m looking forward to using my experience managing global lifestyle brands to expand our reach into more sporting and outdoor lifestyle categories.”
Rob Ward, Founder and CGO of Quad Lock explained that with the business’ current growth, the team is excited to introduce Poole as CEO, who will oversee the further expansion. “We believe [Poole’s] global experience in managing multi-billion lifestyle brands is a huge win for our team and will be integral in taking Quad Lock to the next level,” he said.
“Personally, I’m looking forward to focussing on projects that deliver growth not only in dollars but grow the Quad Lock brand globally. This will include not only new market geographies but further expansion into new outdoor lifestyle categories.”
