E-COMMERCE TIME MACHINE: Booktopia
As one of the first major e-commerce businesses in Australia, we wanted to go back in time and see how far the retailer has come since its early days. Take a trip with us in the E-Commerce Time Machine
With a $10-a-day budget, Booktopia was launched in 2004 by Tony Nash, Simon Nash and Steve Traurig. The retailer is known as the leading online book retailer in Australia, generating revenue of $223 million. In mid-July, its founder and former CEO, Tony Nash, was ousted from the company following an internal business review, with CFO Geoff Stallley taking his place as interim CEO.
As the business heads into a new chapter, we thought it would be interesting to see how far the business has come. Has it always used the iconic green branding? What have been some of the most significant changes, and what improvements could be made? Let’s take a look at the E-Commerce Time Machine to find out.
