Winning Group Acquires Spence & Lyda, Expands into Homewares
Winning Group is breaking into the furniture, lighting and textiles categories with the acquisition of Spence & Lyda, and launching its first lifestyle and luxury home destination.
The news was announced by John Winning, CEO of Winning Group. Spence & Lyda was established in 1997, selling bespoke and designer homewares, furniture and lighting, led by Fiona Lyda. The wider team at Spence & Lyda will join Winning Group, with Fiona Lyda consulting to the Group for the next 12 months as a Creative Director.
In addition to the acquisition, Winning Group has announced it would be establishing a new lifestyle and luxury home platform, Winnings. As part of the acquisition, Spence & Lyda will remain as its own entity, and become integrated with the new platform Winnings. This integration includes the Group’s brick-and-mortar businesses Rogerseller and Winning Appliances.
“We are delighted to welcome Spence & Lyda and their team to the Winning Group. Spence & Lyda, led by Fiona Lyda has an incredible reputation for offering the world’s best and emerging brands at the cutting edge of design, including furniture, lighting, homewares and soft furnishings,” said John Winning of the news. “We are excited to offer Spence & Lyda’s range to more Australians and have it integrated into Winnings, which will be the ultimate lifestyle and luxury shopping experience for the home.”

Winnings, the new destination for home and luxury goods, is expected to launch later in the year. The Flagship Showroom will be located in Redfern, NSW, and will be the ‘first of many’, John Winning explained.
“At Winnings, customers will be able to shop their favourite and exclusive brands from Winning Appliances, Rogerseller and Spence & Lyda all under one roof, at our newly renovated Redfern Showroom to open later this year,” he said. “Our Flagship Redfern Showroom will be the first of many Winnings lifestyle and luxury destination stores for the home, where we will continue on our mission to provide the best shopping experience in the world.”
Spence & Lyda currently houses brands such as Missoni Home, Autoban, Modernica and Matthew Hilton, as well as pieces that ‘reflects Fiona Lyda’s aesthetic and painstaking attention to detail’.
“We are delighted to join the Winning Group and we are excited to continue to grow the Spence & Lyda offering, making our brands and our shopping experience available to more Australians,” shared Fiona Lyda.
“Like Winning Group and its bricks and mortar entities Winning Appliances and Rogerseller, Spence & Lyda have a unique position within the market offering exclusive brands and offering exceptional customer experience. By joining the Winning Group, we are now more than ever before, set for extraordinary things, particularly in the next 12 months with an exciting series of events being run as part of Melbourne Design Week this month and being part of Winnings in Redfern later this year.”
